From Cure to Prevention: IHASA Welcomes Dr. Tayler and Her Innovative Approach

Dr. Tayler’s journey into medicine began with a traditional path, earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBCh) cum laude from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2021. However, her experiences during her medical internship and community service years sparked a profound shift in her perspective. She observed a strong emphasis on treating existing illnesses rather than preventing them in the first place. This realization ignited a passion for preventative medicine, leading her down a path of holistic health and wellness.

“I noticed a gap,” Dr. Tayler explains. “We were excellent at addressing problems once they arose, but I wanted to empower patients to avoid those problems altogether.”

Driven by her own commitment to a healthy and active lifestyle, Dr. Tayler sought to expand her knowledge in the areas of nutrition and exercise. She pursued and achieved certification in precision nutrition and online personal training, recognizing the fundamental role these disciplines play in overall well-being. This exploration opened her eyes to the world of integrative and functional medicine, a field that resonated deeply with her values.

“Integrative medicine felt like the perfect fit,” she says. “It allows me to address the root causes of health issues, rather than just treating symptoms.”

Dr. Tayler has dedicated significant time to furthering her education in integrative medicine, with a particular focus on women’s health and hormones. She understands the unique challenges women face in maintaining optimal health and strives to empower them to achieve balance and vitality. Her approach is centered on helping patients feel strong and healthy in both mind and body, enabling them to live long and fulfilling lives.

Beyond her passion for preventative health, Dr. Tayler also possesses a creative spirit. Recognizing the connection between inner and outer well-being, she has pursued training in aesthetic medicine. This allows her to offer a comprehensive approach to patient care, helping them feel beautiful both inside and out.

“I believe that feeling good about yourself physically can have a profound impact on your overall well-being,” she says. “It’s about empowering patients to embrace their best selves.”

IHASA is thrilled to welcome Dr. Tayler to the team. Her unique blend of medical expertise, passion for preventative care, and commitment to holistic wellness will be a valuable asset to our patients. She is eager to work alongside individuals, helping them navigate their health journeys and achieve their wellness goals.
