MBChB (SA), MRCGP (UK), Dip. Anti-aging (Brussels)
Duncan left the world of illness long ago to focus his efforts on his passion for wellness. Responding to a disease is much less potent than empowering someone to understand their health and prevent the diseases from occurring.
After running his own GP practice in Cape Town, he trained in acupuncture and basic homeopathy before leaving for the UK in 2000. There he completed his advanced GP training (MRCGP) and went on to study aesthetic medicine (botox, fillers and skin health).
In 2005 he returned to Cape Town to open the Anti-Aging Clinic in Sea Point. He studied further in Brussels in anti-aging medicine (hormone balancing in the aging population) and nutrition.
From 2008 he started lecturing in aesthetic and anti-aging medicine.
He is also a trainer for Allergan, is on the executive board of the Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medical Society of South Africa (AAMSSA), and previously lectured for the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM).
In 2014 the clinic changed its name to The Institute of Healthy Aging (IHASA) and extended its range of treatment options. The industry of health is ever-changing, and Duncan views the clinic’s main challenge as being able to lead with key innovations and explain in simple terms which are most appropriate for each client.
In 2019 Duncan published his medical book ‘Younger for Longer’ in the UK and South Africa, and in 2020 it came out in the USA. It is written for the general public and guides us in the principles of how to stay healthy and active throughout our lives.
