What is Facial Imaging?
Facial imaging with VISIA lets you track your treatment progress and see results over time. This high-tech tool automatically pinpoints key areas of your face and analyzes various complexion features, including:

- Porphyrins (which indicate bacteria)
How Does VISIA Identify Skin Features?
VISIA uses smart imaging techniques to assess different skin characteristics:
- Wrinkles: These are identified by their long, narrow shapes, showing decreased skin elasticity often worsened by sun exposure. The system highlights deeper wrinkles with dark green lines and finer lines with light green.
- Texture: This feature looks at colour gradation and surface bumps, with raised areas shown in yellow and dips in blue.
- Pores: VISIA tells pores apart from blemishes based on size, marking each pore as a dark blue circle that matches its actual size.
- Porphyrins: Using UV light, these yellow circles show bacterial excretions that can lead to acne.

VISIA doesn’t just stop at surface-level assessments. It uses Intelliflash modes to measure subsurface skin conditions with a quick series of automated flashes. Plus, the UV photography feature helps assess sun damage, revealing UV spots caused by melanin buildup just below the surface. Brown spots, on the other hand, are linked to hyperpigmentation and occur deeper within the skin.
VISIA’s unique technology also helps visualise conditions like spider veins, rosacea, and acne by separating the colour signatures of red and brown skin components.
